II – VOCABULARY

WORD FROM THE TEXT AND DEFINITION
Pill : A small round piece of medicine that you swallow
without chewing it
Doubt : A feeling to be uncertain about something
Gay : Sexually attracted by people of the same sex
Trials : a formal evidence made by judge often by a jury

III – ANALYSIS TABLE ABOUT THE STUDY

Researchers
Derrick “Strawberry
Amanda Castel, an HIV medical epidemiologist at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health
Published in? when?
Published by Aimee Cunningham on November 15,2019
General topic
HIV virus can’t affect anymore our daily life
Procedure/ what was examined
The analysis focused on the possibilities of living healthy with HIV and the scientific innovations related to new prevention approaches such as Prep. In order to evaluate the depth of the U-U concept, a report was made on people living serenely with the virus. A survey on the percentage of people affected was also conducted.
Conclusions/ discovery
Clinical trials approuved that Prep is a prevention method against HIV for HIV negative person when taken daily. We should not neglect education on HIVprevention.
Today it is possible to live like everyone with the HIV virus. We just have to respect the medications prescribed generally ART if you are tested positive to the HIV VIRUS.

2-VOCABULARY

WORDS FROM THE TEXT DEFINITION
MECHANISM : A method or a system for achieving something
PROTEINS : substance, found within all living things, that forms
the structure of organs
PATH : A way or track that is built or is made by the
action of people walking
TARGET : A result that you try to achieve

RESEARCHERS The center of HIV ARN studies the National Institute of health
PAUL BIENASZ: head of the department of retrovirology at
ROCKEFELLER
JENNIFER MEAGHERS :Researcher at the U-M’S LSI
PUBLISHED IN?WHEN? November 11,2019
GENERAL TOPIC Barriers to viral infection and HIV resistance
PROCEDURE Firstly, they examine the mechanisms made by our body to
fight against every types of viruses.
Secondly, the analysis the operating mode of ZAP which is
the principal proteins in that mechanism to find the reason of
HIV’s resistance
CONCLUSIONS AND DISCOVERY The virus RNA mimics the proteins ZAP in its poverty of CG’s
dinucleotide ZAP does not differentiate the RNA viral from
the humans ones and takes part to the amplification of HIV

Researchers? Researchers of the group ABOTT
JONAH SACHA: professor at the vaccine and genetherapy at  institute of Oregon Health and Science University
MICHAEL WOROBEY :head of the department of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Arizona
Published in? when (if mentioned)? November 6,2019
General topic Researcher’s efforts to control HIV evolution
Procedure/                what was examined A study on HIV has understood that the virus is in period evolution. Several technologies have been developed to estimate the genetic diversity of the virus. Abott has settled a surveillance program of 78000 samples from 45 countries to not lose views of traces of new HIV variety
Conclusions/ discovery It is a common believe that the evolution of HIV viruses is controled but it is a big misleading.
